Inside Out Beginner Camp 2010

Danny and I grew up going to church camp. We went to Camp Rock Creek together and fell in love there. (awww!) Danny has always had a dream to direct a camp and he saw his dream through last week!! Last fall, he went to a camp with a good friend and the boys were so upset that they were not going with him. At that camp, everything fell in place and he and Karla Taylor started planning their first Beginner Camp. Beginner Camp is for 1st-5th graders and its for 4 days, three nights. Danny and Karla and the whole staff did an AMAZING job at directing, organizing and putting this camp on!! We had a great time and we are already planning for next years camp!!

Walk for Hope

The journey land kids at Memorial Road support 27 kids at the Village of Hope in Ghana, Africa. We had a Walk for Hope and the goal was $5000. There were over 700 participants and over $8000 was raised for these children!!! This will cover their tuition for a year at the Village of Hope! What a great event!

Here's the family at the finish line (we walked 2 miles)
Callon and Katie finishing! Callon carried my camera bag more than half way. He was dragging (the boy played a soccer game and two tball games on Saturday and another tball game on sunday. I kept asking him to let me carry it and he wouldn't ever let me. He finally said "I'm NOT gonna let you carry it!" He even offered to carry my camera also. Such a sweet boy!

I just have a picture of Canton at the start line, because that's the last I saw him! :) At the end of the walk, when we were headed to our van, he said "That was AMAZING!!" that's right son! It was!
I'm so proud of my kids and to be a part of MRCC!!
