I tried!

I finally get them all looking and smiling at the same time only to have her dress looking inappropriate? Well, I tried!

big girl bed

I wanted to keep Cailey in her crib until she was, well, old. She was perfectly fine in her crib and slept really well and never complained about it. Plus, I could lay in my bed a few extra minutes each morning until I went in to get her out. Well, one day, in hopes of having her not take the usual 3 to 4 hour nap that she usually takes, i laid her on a pallet on her floor. She was so excited to be sleeping on "Addy's bed". We had to go somewhere that evening and she is very grouchy when I have to wake her up. My plan backfired one me. Not only did I still have to wake her up, but from then on, she slept on the floor for naps and bed time. She did this for about two weeks and we decided we were done with the crib (tear drop!)I have had a child in a crib for six and a half years! So, this is a huge step for us. She looked so big in her crib and the first night she slept in her bed, Danny and I could not believe how little she looked again. She really likes her bed and we are so proud of her.

Camping Trip

We went to Foss Lake this weekend and stayed one night at the campground. While we were setting up our tent and stuff, Canton got bit by a few ants. After he calmed down (those of you who know Canton, knows this takes a bit) and got bite spray on his bites, we continued setting up our tent. We saw above our table a nest with two purple martins in it. They kept flying away and coming back and then we saw their babies in the nest. That was pretty neat and we were excited we would be waking up to the birds. After we got our tent set up, we started getting ready to go swimming and Canton got in the ants again!!!! So, after awhile, we finally got to go swimming!! We came back to roast hotdogs and smores, and we discovered we had "neighbors". No big deal, until they started using bad language, drinking, yelling at the children, and had a pit bull. They were setting up their camp by car light and when it was shining in our tent for a few minutes, I thought Danny would come unglued! Before we went to bed, we went to take the kids to wash them off in the shower. So we paid $1.25 for a 7 1/2 minute shower. AND IT WAS COLD!!! Why would we pay for a cold shower? Anyways, back to the neighbors. We thought for sure at ten, when we finally got Callon and Cailey asleep that they would calm down, but Canton was still watching them at midnight. We finally closed his window and rubbed his back so he could go to sleep. It wasn't until about 2 am until we finally got to go to sleep, but they were still visiting. The dog even came over by our tent and "tripped" over the tie down of our tent and the owner was stumbeling all over the place to get him back to their area. We were so frustrated and just wished for a little respect. We decided not to spend the whole day Saturday with the neighbors of choice. When we woke up, not to the purple martins we had hoped for, but to a neighbor snoring, We told the kids we were gonna come home and go swimming. They were very disappointed, but they were okay with going swimming. The kids had so much fun, which is all that mattered. We just enjoyed being together! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy so you can see that the kids were not miserable and did indeed have fun!

I know I can be a little obsessed when it comes to taking pictures, but I can't help it! Canton had team pictures tonight after his game, and I grabbed a few of all my kids!

Basketball Camp

Callon slip-and-sliding! Canton wouldn't have anything to do with it!

So excited!!

Thank you Auntie Kate for working camp so we could go!!
